Okay, well I can play maybe 4/5 of the whole song minus a few select parts, and bother parts are the same basic method of playing that I just can't seem to do. I've only been playing for about 8 months, and those 8 months are self taught, so i'm not that great. Anyway, here's the part of the tab that I can't seem to do right. It's either my finger placement, or my picking method (im trying to downstroke it all with hammer ons/pull offs, because that's what the tab indicates.)

-----------4------------------------4-----------4--------------------------------
-------------7-4-----4----------------6-4-------4--------------------------------
-6^--6^-----------6^----7-6-4--6^^----------6^-----7-6-4-------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------6-4---------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------6-4-\2---/4~~~~~/---
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who have the song, or would like to listen to the part i'm referring to, the time this all begins is 2:22.

What's the song called?
That tab seems pretty straightforward. Every time there is a decending sequence of notes (such as 7-6-4) I would pull off.

The song is "always with me always with you". :)

It is most likely your finger placement that is giving you trouble. Even though "up-down" picking would be better suited for that piece, pure down picking wouldn't make it *much* more difficult.

Your hand really shouldn't have to move from the "Minor Pentatonic" position, except for the last few sliding notes. You should fret the 6's with your 3rd (ring) finger, the 4's with your 1rst (pointer) finger, and the 7's with your 4th (pinky) finger. Your hand shouldn't move from that position, until the end where you have to slide up to the 2nd fret, using your 1rst (pointer) finger and sliding down from the 4th fret with your 3rd (ring) finger. The less your hand has to move, the more accurate and easier you can play. Hope that helps...
