What does these mean?:-Tonic,Supertonic,Medient,Subdominant,Dominant,Subm edient,Leading tone

Do these have any relationship with the chord progressions?

yeh dude
say you're in the key of C
the first chord you're likely to use is the C chord, and thats what is called the tonic
D is the supertonic
E is the Medient
F is the subdominant
G is the dominant
A is the submedient
B is the leading note/chord
But in the case of a chord progression you use the roman numerals as in I IV V IV
Well I'm pretty sure thats how it goes, we just learnt that in 5th form music =]
