Hello every one.... i have a problem and its with writing melodies like lets say i just jam a few cool sounding power chords out of the blue right? ok then i wanna add something cool to go with it im confused about how to do that how do i make it the right notes ( i know it has to be in key) do i use certain scales for that kinda stuff?

Yes, scales, as long as they are in key.
Just pick your scale which corresponds to the key your in, and play. I like to just go with the feel of the song, but if your a real technically picky guy, play the chord tones in the scale over the chords that have those tones, but mess around with them a bit, different octaves, harmonies, stuff like that.
Bottom line is you gotta use your imagination.

thanks a lot that helped but now see lets say im playing a song in the chords C#5 A5 E5 B5 so i know that its going to be a minor key but like is there a certain scale for example if im using the Aeolian scale theres like a couple different versions it doesnt matter which one i use?

Yup, if your in a minor key, use the minor scale with the same letter name as the key your in. If you want to get exotic, try some different modes too.
