I was wondering if anyone could tell me [1]if the bass scales are the same as the guitar.
[2] Is that is so. Do the bas player have to play the scale corresponding the guitar chord? For eample: if the guitar plays A chord, do the bass have to play something long the A scale?
[3] What finger do u use when playing bass. Im used to playing guitar and i use a pick but when im playing the bass i feel uncofortable. what finger/fingers should i use? i sthe bass played like classic guitar= one finger per string?

Thank U:)

woah dude, the usual techniques are:
- with a pick
- using walking fingers, I think usually the first 3 (dont use ur thumb)
- slapping

I know what you mean. I started bass after playing guitar for 2 years and I only wanted to use a pick. Using your fingers is something you have to get used to. The best way to start playing bass with your fingers is the simple 2 fingered style. Plant your thumb on the pickup and use your pointer and middle finger to finger the strings. There is nothing wrong with picking on a bass, but if you want to be a proficient bass player you should be good at finger style on the bass. Once you get finger style down very well (speed, stamina, accuracy, etc) move on to slap.
