i cant seem to make it sound right... for the open 6 th string at the beginning , i strum up down up then on my way down i go to the power chords, but it doesnt sound right...any words of advice...thanks

It's mostly just alternate picked with maybe a couple downpicks in a row at the ends of each phrase segment or something like that.It's kinda hard to describe so I think that's why no one has answered,they probably just aren't sure how to describe it or don't want to tab the thing out.
