heres the deal...i got a squire p-bass. the action is about a half inch to an inch off the fretboard. ive tried all i could, i lowered the saddles to the bottom of the bridge and its still like that.

So my question is, would buying a new bridge do it? or could it be the strings, or do i just need to buy a new bass...i know its a piece of crap, but id prefer not to buy a new one. i dont have much money for a new one, maybe $200 bucks.

So if worst comes to worst, could someone suggest some basses for under $250?

thanks...rick

well man how close do ya want the thing?? a inch sounds good to me... tooo close and your gonna have the strings hitting the frets and crap when ya dont want them to.

well, ive had other bassists play it and check it out and the first reaction was, "wow! that action is really high, it will increase finger strength though!"

And ive played other basses and there is a major difference

hmm i would just take it to a music store that fixes guitars and just ask the guy to do it for ya
