Well, I want to know what good distortion pedals are out there. I like the Metallica-type heaviness if you get the drift. I have a very large and high power amp and i dont want any multi effect "Metal Zone" rubbish. PLz help out.

Boss MT-2 isn't a multi effects unit
and it does give you a heavy met sound
I'm guessing tho that a dist pedal with a tube in it would be good
find some
or go buy a better amp that will give you that overdrive

yes true he was asking for pedals. and yes the mesa amps are expensive i paid $1250.00 for mine and it is worth every penny you know why.......cuz i'll be playing the rest of my life and 1250 over my lifetime works out to just pennies a day. if you get this amp it will eliminate the use of a pedal, go plug one in and you'll find out why.if you like peavey dude thats cool too i dont knock anyone.

hehe
I wont knock anyone for liking mesa either =]
I do though think that mesa/boogie makes an awesome triple rectifier. The dual is alright, sum think its better, and the single doesn't have very good distortion. All the owners of mesa/boogie rectifiers say they love it tho (who wouldn't love it for the price they payed hehe, soz =]) so I mean it's all upto personal taste, but I'd rather have a peavey 5150II or a Triple XXX. Right now I have neither =]
Oh, and as far as pedals go (sorry about the big splurge) I heard the Mesa/boogie V-twin was the ultimate in distortion. Never played through one tho.

The Marshall JMP-1 i would have to say has the best distortion on a peice of equipment i have ever owned, especially played through a mesa cab with a marshall head, it thumps sooo hard, and has sooo much chunk to it.
