once i leave for school, i see myself having a lot of extra time on my hands, and for most of that time ill be playing guitar. im definitely planning on working on some stuff i have not given my full effort to, but i was wondering if there were some different little tricks or styles or whatnot any of the more experienced players feel it would be necessary to practice while im stuck sitting on my ass. keep in mind i'm only bringing my acoustic with me.
p.s. i bought a slide so i can work on some slide guitar, anyone got any decent songs i could work on (as a beginner to slide that is?)
anything by Robert Johnson.

It's a littel hard to say exactly what you should be practicing not knowing your current skills and, more importatnley, your interest.
One thing that I think almost anyone can work on (myself included!) is their timing. It doesn't matter if you can shred 1000bmp if you are not playing in time with everyone else. Get out the metronome and try playing along with some scales/songs. Make sure you do everything in time. This can get boring and you will need to mix in some other activities too. However, having a great sense of timming is makes you such a more powerfula and usefull musician.
Another recommendation is to work on fingerpicking. Their are many many cool songs (espcially for acoustic) that use some fairly easy fingerpicking styles. To get started try:

Their are also a lot of other little technique things that can really help you out. For example, working on using your pinky, hand stretching exercises, building a large vocabulary of strum patterns, and practacing all forms of picking.

Try listening to different music and getting inspiration from it.Like funk and country and jazz and classical etc.Listening to the smooth jazz station on the radio can turn you on to some new playing ideas. If you can find radio stations for each of those other types of music you might pick up some new weird or cool ideas too.The feel they give you will add something to your playing. It's like looking at playing from a different angle. Then of course there's always blues jams for practicing.
Slide - try "Freebird"
Practice and work on every technique you can think of.
Use the time to come up with some new chords.
