twangy sound from disco songs?

I think we need more tips...

Do you mean those funky disco sounds from the 70's? Maybe you should tell a name of a song and give timings about where you can heare those sounds.

Let's do a silent moment for barry...

You need a wahwah pedal to get the sound real, but you can also try get it with totally clean sound by struming some high notes without a pick... you use a lot of wrist to get the motion going on and you lift your left hand every now and then so that they are *not* pressing the strings against the fretboard, thus they mute the sound...

it's really hard to explain and even if you succeed it's nothing like doing it with wahwah pedal but it's something similar and funky. Check if Cyberfret's funk section has something to give to you. You might want to check Ska section also http://www.cyberfret.com/styles/index.php

To hear more wahwah sounds hear Jimi Hendrix :)

Do what Hannu is describing to get that funky feel and just play octaves up high. The bass player should play something funky too like some slappin and poppin.

try something like this:

E-15-15--15-15-x-x-15-x-15-x-15-15-x-
B--------------x-x----x----x-------x-
G-12-12--12-12-x-x-12-x-12-x-12-12-x-

or something like that :p
