well i want to buy a new Distorion Pedal like Zoom or something that really Rocks!








is the pod good? shoud i buy it?
or maby Zoom gfx somthing ??

out of your choices, I'd definately go for the line 6 pod man.

Straight up the amp sims are totally awesome!. Some good effects available too. Great control, great distortion. Oh, and I heard that their sinle effects are good as well

There are lots of posts on zoom pedals and line 6 stuff in the electric guitar and gear forums.

Hey there,

I've demo'd and often play on a POD at our local music store. Man that thing is alot of fun !!! I'm just a beginner and not really in the market for any effects equipment, at least until I'm a little more accomplished, but I can't walk in there w/out jack'in up to that thing.

Hold it. If you're really only looking for a distortion pedal, you're buying the wrong thing. The Zoom units and the POD are mulit-effects (in case of the POD even a little bit more) - you're paying extra for things you probably don't need.

If it's just a distortion effect you need and not a chorus, reverb, delay etc, buy a single distortion pedal like the Boss Metalzone or something like that.

I bought a Zoom in the summer for its distortion settings. I don't really use the effects on it but it's still really fun to play with. A POD is pretty much the same deal but just better and a whole lot more expensive. I got my Zoom 505 for about 180 including tax. A POD would be like 600! So if your loaded and wanna spend a lot of cash get a POD but if your looking budget wise and the pedal doesnt mean the world to you get the Zoom.

Another advantage that the POD has over the Zoom is that the Zoom is metal and the Zoom is plastic and will crack overtime.
You gotta have a decent amp too when using these pedals it will add a lot more :)
