If you could attend any concert of any band (living or dead), who would you see?

I would like to have seen Queen and The Doors. :(

I DID see Kansas and Styx together in an outdoor concert! It was awesome! I saw Dream Theater in a stinky little dive where your feet stick to the floor. It is amazing to see them play live! :p

Hmm.....
Right, I'll get this out of the way first cause I'm guessing everyone would want to see this: Jimi at Woodstock

The Stone Roses at spike island cause I was too young at the time.

I'd also like to see the Verve and the Seahorses at the V98 festival again because I wasn't a fan when I saw them the first time round, but now I am, they've both split up.

Metallica definately..i'd sell my soul to see them play, both the Cliff era and the Jason era.
I'd have also loved to see Alice in Chains..it's such a pity they split up.
and hmm...how can i forget..Iron Maiden!
In that order too.

I would love to see metallica back in '86 (the year I was born) at cliff's last concert, and to hear his last bass solo.
I have bootleg recordings from that concert in mp3.
Pretty nice quality.
I'd also love to see Eric Clapton or B.B. King or both =] And the G3 concerts that satriani and vai have been doing would be pretty cool.

slaughteredsoul,
I traded with a mate over seas. I gave her an Emperor Concert, and she gave me about 6 metallica concerts. 4 from '86, 1 of their secret gig's and 1 from '92 (at wembley stadium, a damn nice show for mp3 =])
If you want I could post up cliff's last solo, it craps up at the beginning then it goes alright, and his solo leads into damage inc.
its fairly good quality

btw I gave her a video concert and she gave me mp3 concerts =]

slaughteredsoul

I'd be grateful if you do post it up...:)
thanks a bunch.
I can't believe someone would part with 6 Metallica concerts!!
The one's i have are the official ones(S&M,Cunning stunts..) and the one's that came in the Fan Can..
someday...

smfulla
12-04-2001, 11:27 PM
she didn't part with them =] she copied them
I sent her a cd, and she sent me one.

btw, I was wrong about what I said, that was another concert in '86
cliff's last bass solo is good as quality
the whole 'section' last's for practically 5 mins
you can get it here http://www.soopamaorifulla.f2s.com/files/06-CliffBassSolo.mp3
right click and save as =]
send me a pm once you have it and I'll delete it off the server

AC/DC with Bon Scott (the best would be a concert between 1977-78, maybe that one recorded in the Atlantic Studios in 1977)
Jimi Hendrix before Woodstock
Led Zeppelin

oh yeah, just forgot
Guns N' Roses with Steven Adler

Uh... guess.... :D

Okay, forgetting any band Neal's in, or has been in...

Lately, I've been begging Gregg Rolie to come my way 'cause I'd love to see him and I have NEVER had the chance to see Gregg perform live! (I think I've got a chance maybe this year, too.)

***

Outside of all that, I sort of would have loved a chance to see Supertramp. I was and am a pretty big fan of Supertramp's stuff... Took me three years to get straight the lyrics of 1979's "The Logical Song" :D

Definately Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival, then the Grateful Dead at the Fillmore, and the Ramones at CBGB's. Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden would've been sweet too.

Drowning Pool. My old guitar teacher saw them perform at a parking lot at Pennsylvania. Man I wish I was there.

I'd have to say Queen, G3(all of the lineups they've had), Styx, Journey, Def Leppard(again), Dio, Scorpions, and Ozzy with RR

1.Ozzy w/ Randy, no question...
2.Pink Floyd (anywhere from '70 - '80)
3.Sabbath ('70 - '78)

a bunch of others I could choose as well...

ibleedmarshall
09-11-2003, 05:04 PM
actually yeah, I think I gotta agree with you on RR.... hey, when Metallica toured w/ Ozzy, was Randy still alive?

@ibleedmarshall: Don't think so dude, Randy died March 19th, 1982, so unless they did a very low profile tour in support of Ozzy before releasing Kill 'Em All, it's highly unlikely :)

ibleedmarshall
09-11-2003, 08:44 PM
damn.... no they toured w/ Ozzy right after MoP came out....

You gotta admit Metallica w/ Cliff and Ozzy w/ Randy would have been a KILLER show!!!

Shoot, I listen to Tribute, and I'm just blown away. If I could see Randy go at it live, I could die a happy man. Kinda off topic, but did anyone read the Rolling Stone's Top 100 guitarists? They put RR at like #85, and EVH at #70 I think. I thought the whole list was pretty well screwed over.

Thanks, I found it last night and put in my two cents. Then I sent Rolling Stone a not very happy email.
