anybody know of any companies who make good distortion pedals preferable less than 150$?????

Well, there are lots of distortion pedals for different styles and ammounts of distortion desired. But I know you are a metallica fan, so I am assuming you want a heavy distortion sound. I know that the boss distortion pedals are good. Don't get those "metal zone" pedals or anything similar. They are good for middle school kids who want a metal tone in their bedroom with their squire amp and guitar. I would say look around at tube distortion pedals, or just save up for a Line 6 POD and get pretty much any tone you want. I can't recommend the POD enough, I think it's something every guitar player should have!

I have a DigiTech RP100, it only costs $150 (I got it on sale @ Guitar Center for 100, seen it there for 50 once at one of their big sales). You can get damn near any kinda of distortion you could think of, as well as any other kind of sound. I definetly recommend it for a low (heh, never thought I'd say 100 bucks is cheap) priced, kick ass pedal.
