which amp???

i'm going to buy my first electric guitar, probably a ibanez grx or a squier standard strat, but the amp doesn't come with any of them. i was wondering if anybody could tell me names of models with a low price and an acceptable quality, or if there is another way of amplifying the sound (like connecting the guitar to the pc and let some software [which one???] do the job)

well a cheap way is to get a pedal of sum sort that has a preamp and then hook it upto your stereo or computer. Or you get a small practice amp from say peavey, marshall, ANYONE for around 100 or 200 US I think, or maybe less. (I'm a kiwi, the exchange rate is about 1 NZ dollar for 49 american cents + I dunno about your prices)
so yeh, get a cheap practice amp

How much do you want to spend? The way i see it is if you buy a cheap amp it can be off putting with the sound you get I have seen a lot of beginners give up because the amp sounds crap you would be better looking for something in the secondhand market and make sure you take your guitar along and play through the amp

when i first started out i played for months just through a marshall g10 amp, and it sounds good for a 10watt, but obviously sounds completely ****e compared to any slightly good amp.

buy the best amp you can afford, but try not to be put off if it sounds cack
