I've been playing a few months now and I know a bit of theory and my technique is getting ok so I want to start learning some flashy solo's or licks.

I like metallica and have tab to a few of their songs. What would be an easy metallica solo to learn that's quite fast?

Also is there a good site where I can learn some licks and how you create the flashy fast sounds that's not too advanced?

I've learnt a couple of the slower metallica solos but I think if I knew the techniques I could make my own variations up rather than trying to play some1 elses songs like they do on a record.

Battery is not that fast but sounds flashy..
Any type of tapping is also very nice to hear...
Try something of the black album (Metallica)

Sorry for my english...

the solo to Nothing Else Matters is pretty easy, imo

The opening solo, or "lead" to Fade To Black isn't terribly fast, but it sounds flashy, and The Unforgiven isn't terribly fast, and sounds great

I can already play the solo to nothing else matters, the intro solo to fade to black, the intro solo and after 1st chorus solo to sanitarium and i can sorta play the solo to unforgiven too.

learn the solo to "one" - the main solo with the tapping in the beginning.......some very flashy tapping in the beginning with a fast repitive lick, followed by an array of pulloffs into a bluesy set of bends

Surprisingly I have MORE trouble playing that up to speed during that one quick lick than I do during the last solo. But you're right it does sound really good when done properly.

you need to use sweep picking to get that fast lick on the intro upto speed i took me forever to get the hang of that one
