Ive got a book with many songs in it with the chords to strum, written over the words. Easy to understand except for "N.C." cropping up occasionally, for example:
|G.......N.C....F
|/./././.|././././.|

Does anyone understand it?
(Note: The full stops in between the strokes and the chord names etc, are not meant to be there - it just stops them all running together when I post this)

N.C. simply means No Chords.

If you are playing with someone else take a break for a second. If you are the only person playing insert a little riff or pick up the melody untill you start strumming agian.

Also, if you want to lose the dots, enclose it in [*code]...[*/code] without the "*"s. Like this:

[*code]
G N.C A
/ / / / | / / / /
[*/code]

====

G N.C A
/ / / / | / / / /

As far as your original question goes, I think talldeke is right.
