I went to see Cast when I was 15 and didn't really go that well, I was sick on the coach on the way there(probably a combination of alchohol and the fact I get carsick very easily), I was wearing a big coat which I did'nt take off causing me to get very hot and sweaty, the wrong shoes meant that I couldnt jump or move cos they would fall off and a hat which everyone kept trying to pinch so I had to hold it for the entire show.

But apart from that............

The music was good which I guess is all that matters.

MAN, that was a long long long long time ago for me. apart from seeing local acts in the high school gyms, I think the first REAL rock show was Derek and the Dominos. If that doesn't give away my age. I seen them in the basement of COBO hall no seats just a big room with a stage, I was FLOORED by them, ECs guitar and Duanes slide is what made me scream till I was horse. I couldn't hear right for 2 days after that.... but it was worth it!! It was just a coupla weeks later I seen the ORIGINAL fleetwood mac (no girls) in the same place, sat with my back against the PA speaker cabinet was deaf for about a week after that one... you figger I'd learn wouldn't ja

well...you prolly never heard of them but....the first concert i saw was...Whitecross.....id say i was about 15 or 16....headbanged all night and found out that the morning after your neck doesnt feel so good....we called it "jellyneck'...haha....
the cool thing was the youth group i was in sponsored a dinner for them so we all got to eat with the band and talk to them...same thing with Glenn Kaiser...
but since you never heard of them....or Glenn Kaiser (REZ Band)either prolly....my first secular show (outside of college shows where i got to see people who werent famous yet) ...i was i think 21 and it was Crosby and Nash....we had really good seats and it was a really good show...i was supposed to get a copy of the bootleg the guy sitting next to us was making...my husband had his number and we talked to him a couple times but werent sure if we wanted to give him our address so we never got it....oh well!!

My first show was dc Talk with Burlap to Cashmere, Jars of Clay, and delerious?. My friend Ashley won tix to it and took me with her. That was before I was a huge music freak. Ever since I became a CCM junkie, I've started going to all the Jennifer Knapp concerts nearby, but since I only became a Jen junkie fairly recently, I haven't been to a ton...but this next touring season, you can bet I'll be at any concert within 4 hours of here! But so far I've seen her at King's Fest with John Reuben, Sonicflood, Point of Grace, dc Talk, ZOEgirl, FFH, and Newsboys. And I saw her in September and I also saw Earthsuit while I was waiting for her to come on!

I saw Metallica on their Justice tour (back when they still had long hair!). They have a great stage presence, and their sound was incredible. Lots of pyrotechnics too. They blew up this gigantic Statue of Liberty replica at the end. Fortunately, James got out of the way in time. Musta learned his lesson! :)

Hmmm....let's see. First concert I ever saw...Robert Plant (imagine that!)...then I saw Ozzy (Zakk Wylde era) right after--10th row on the floor...

Best concerts I've seen? Hands down--Jimmy Page & Robert Plant (both times they toured), Fleetwood Mac reunion tour (with girls), Bob Dylan at a small venue--got to dance on stage with the band! Black Sabbath reunion.

Weirdest concerts I've seen....Marilyn Manson...Type O Negative...Tool (why does he paint himself blue?)...

Sorriest to have missed...Paul McCartney.

Never been to a concert yet, and when metallica was in my neck of the woods last, I didn't like them =/ That was back in 98

Oasis in Vienna (02,06,2000), it was really bad, partly coz they played without Noel Gallagher, partly because they used loops from the playback. I was 16. Then some months later I saw AC/DC (22,11,2000) in the same music hall. It was great, just uncomparable.

well. larnell harris. i was in like 3rd grade, and that concert is not a fond memory. if you havent heard of him, consider yourself lucky.

i've been to tons of concerts since then and my favorite band is the orange county supertones. i've seen them 5 times. i've seen the newsboys more times than i can count. audio adrenaline, jennifer knapp, the w's, dc talk, the benjamin gate, PAX217, switchfoot, the elms, i could go on forever. i love concerts.

The Offspring, Clutch, and Stabbing Westwood when I was 14. There were some other bands too, but they sucked so I will not name them.

Well, if I remember correctly my first "real" concert was AC/DC. I was about 16. It was good at the time I guess.
I saw Metallica in Anchorage, Alaska in April of 1998 (hmm, maybe 99). Absolutely amazing. Monster Magnet opened for them.

Electric Light Orchestra, during their Out of the Blue tour. They were using a 60-foot "spaceship" for a stage.

I think the opening act was a band called "Trixter" (not sure if that was the name, or if I have it spelled right).

It was on Friday, September 1, 1978, at the Tarrant County Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas.

I was 14. I went with my older sister and her husband, and another married couple who were their friends.

First live show i saw was DC Talk. Not really TRUE rock, but a live show none the less. Then i saw B.B. King and Al Cummings on 12/30/01. I So missed the G3 Show that went through here, and i was upset about that.
I REALLY Want to see Black Sabbath live, (It's the only band i'd go to Ozzfest for!) and I Want to see DIO, and Iron Maiden,too.. Gamma Ray would ROCK to see live, but they dont come to the US (Not enough demand)

well....When i was 15ish i went to see Bon Jovi which was amazing. (no joke)

Then i went to see Guns n Roses at wembly stadium with skid row supporting . I went down the day before and slept rough outside on the steps then the show started and i was at the front and i all i can say is that it was so tightly packed that i could take my feet off the floor and the pressure of everyone around me was so great they kept me suspended off the floor!!!

also it was mid summer and the only way you could breath was if you held your head up and gasped for air.

everyone was crying out for water and they eventually started to hand out cups of water.

i might add that Skid Row were by far the best and i was worn out by the time GnR came on!

then after i had to sleep rough outside again as it was too late for the bus.

It was the best and worst day of my life.

then i was saw skid row again.

then i saw Bon Jovi again with my wife (then girl friend)

and thats it.

Well...I have 2 answers to that.

I guess my first "concert" was seeing "Beatlemania" when I went on a trip to L.A. when I was 9 years old. Hey, it was a live performance and a great multi-media show, even by today's standards.

My first real concert? Easy. Cheap Trick, St. Patrick's Day, 1981, Hedge**** Fieldhouse, Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI. Front row. What a way to begin your concert going experience. Rick Neilsen is a great guitarist, Robin Zander is one of if not the best rock vocalist out there, Bun E. Carlos still hammers it and then the chunkiness of Tom Petersson's 12 string bass. It's a shame they can't get their act together in the studio though...

Seen Trick MANY times since then and they STILL rock out harder than most alt rock bands nowadays. Took a Metallica fan to see them and he thought it was the heaviest concert he'd ever seen. GO SEE THEM.

ZZ Top, 1977
The thing about it I really regret is that everyone in my row brought a handful of joints with then and joints were passed back & fouth all night until finally I passed out from getting high. I have never passed out since then and I suggest you go to the concert straight so you can enjoy it. Hey you paid to see a band, get your moneys worth! I since quit the pot thing, too old, too much at stake, too busy.

A bunch of local bands comprised of greasy schoolkids when I was 16ish. It was really **** venue (where I now practise with my own band, actually). But this band came on, they called themselves the Anal Banana (I'm not kidding), and they rocked, I've never ever rocked harder than that night. I wish they hadn't split up about a month after their first gig.

It was last year, I was 15, I went to see Stomp. They were awesome, much better than the videos you see of them.

It really was amazing.

The first real concert came after that, last year, I saw
ALLMAN BROTHERS!
It was awesome. They were heavier than I expected, it was REALLY good. Their new guitarist Derek Trucks (sp?) was GREAT, better than Warren Hayes (sp?) in my opinion. But them together was great.

Derek is the son (im pretty sure son... has same last name...) of the Allman Brothers drummer, and I was thinking Derek was there just cause he had relations. But he wasn't, he was an awesome guitarist.

The band was great. They tour often, if they come to your area definitely go see them!

1979, I was 18, Toronto---Ramones, Nazareth, Edgar Winter ( or Jonny Winter, can't remember!), Goddo, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, and I probably forgot some. This was either just before or after Keith Richards got busted for dope and the Stones were going to put on a charity concert. Couldn't get tickets for that one.
We slept on the pavement at the head of the line the night before, and stayed all day and most of the next night. I've never smelled so much pot in my life, and I've been to some monster concerts in Europe. The Ramones were awesome, as was Aerosmith. Have to admit a lot of it was a blur!

As I have noted under another topic, my first live guitar concert was Les Paul and Mary Ford when I was 15. I will repeat myself again in saying "that was real music." They did 2 shows at a Home Show and my friend and I loved it so much we stood up for the early show and then waited for the late show and stood for that too. I'm not sure the term gig was being used yet.

july 21, 2002, relient k and audio adrenaline, outdoor theater behind astroworld, 14 years old.

that was wicked. both of thsoe bands put on killer shows. relient k has a big plastic buffalo tied to skateboards that they sit on and then throw out into the crowd while playing on top of it. wicked stuff.

I saw a lot of local shows in high school but my first "real" show was in 94 and it was Stone Temple Pilots and the Flaming Lips opening up for the Butthole Surfers. It was great ! I've been to hundreds of shows since. And to the person asking about Metallica shows... I saw them in 1997 I think it was. The year they were playing Lollapalooza. Even though I'm really not a huge fan of theirs, they are really good live.

my first concert was actually yesterday [july 20] when vans warped tour came to houston. it was on my 15th birthday too, so that made it extra special. nothing like 7 hours of screaming and crowd surfing. ill definantly be going to concerts more often, i cant believe how much i've missed out on.
