after reading his essays on this site several times I still sit back with a couple of questions.

- what's the floating arm?, he mention it once in an essay as a keypoint but never define it.

- what's the correct approach to simple chords? (floating arm, heavy arm, light finger, firm finger etc) he only eleborate on bar chords.

I hope there are some Andreas geeks out there ;) , cos his theories seriously appeals to me all though I'm just a newbie, and I want to build my foundation on his theories.

thanks

I like Jamey's descriptions too. His instructions are the only I've seen that attempt to describe what it should feel like when you're doing something right or doing something wrong. I'm sure I'll buy his book one of these days...but since I just bought a pile of other books, I need to let my wallet recuperate first!

uhm... I've also read Jamey's articles and like them a lot! All this "floating arm", "firm finger" etc... terms refer to how it should feel like to do things. You have to read all of his articles because sometimes he refers to a term he has already described in another paper.
There are usually some instructions on how you can experience the floating arm, firm finger etc.. feeling...

Hi, for the same kind of thinking , you can also check ( I would say buy!) Mick Goodrick s ADVANCING GUITARIST book.
It is about 25$ and it s a must.
