well I think almost everyone should agree...
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica is a very good finger picking song
Tabs available at http://www.themetsource.com
Another one is Romanza (D'amour [sometimes they dont have the D'amour after Romanza])
Ummm, tabs are available at any olga website. It's an unknown artist, even on the cd 'Romantic classical guitar songs' (or sumthing to that effect) didn't have the artist.

I definately agree! Nothing Else Matters is a great fingerpicking song and unfortunately, i haven't tried to look for others since im still working on this one.
i've read somewhere on this forum that it took someone a year(i think?) to get it right and a couple more months for the solo.
I've been playing it for 4 months,i'm stil trying to get the intro right...

hmmm...
i play "the freshmen" by the verve pipe both with and without a pick...its pretty good...not too hard either...
i think maybe the song "everybody hurts" by
REM is also possibly a fingerpicked song.......or at least part of it is...

BTW,RoCkStAr3417, i strongly recommend Nothing Else Matters, cause although it's a little hard(for me at least), it's a really fun song to play.Plus nothings hard once you put your mind to it..:)
good luck with your playing.

I suggest tackling it one part at a time e.g. intro, chorus, verse, interlude, solo, outro
If you wanna get sumthing out the way, dive into the chorus, the easiest part =] its just chords. C, A, D.
Next I'd suggest (if you don't play lead) the rhythm behind the solo (another easy part) as it is just power chords (practically)
Then try the intro, then verse, and outro. Then go for the interlude, then solo =]
Always go for the solo last =]
hmm, I'd also suggest recording each part as you learn them.

Check out Kelly joe pheps, all his tunes are good fingerpicking tunes! He s just the best!

nothing else matters is like one of the songs kirk just sighs and thinks....why james...why...
its amazing an all but, if youre not a rhythm player, youre gonna be so bored (seeing as james plays the solo) but yes,
another acoustic song to check out could be Fade To Black?
its got some good acoustic bits.
i kinda like the Nobodies by Marilyn Manson (so go ahea, shoot me) only the acoustic version
sounds pretty:>
under the bridge by RHCP?
thats a pretty cool song...

I don t know why some people talk about metallica songs and all
this kind of stuff. Come on folks!!! This is not good finger picking, this is just for beginner... maybe in pop music, you can look to some Mark Knofler song ( from Dire straits).
Also look:
Leo Kottke, Kelly Joe Phelps, Lenny breau (jazz player) ect.
I think if we all want to improve as musicien, we shouldn t stop our learning to the Guitar Player s front page!
lam
he didnt say he was a beginner.
if you want to impress yourself
learn the nobodies by marilyn manson
ive already mentioned it.
if you are a beginner and i didnt know - its a pretty simple song, and it sounds good.
i think youll like it.
tears in heaven by eric clapton...
it's a very peaceful, sad and still beautiful song, I like it a lot...
however, I don't know where to get an accurate tab for it, I've a DVD where you see him playing it and I got it from there (unfortunately, you can't see the second guitar so I'll have to figure that out by ear.. sometimes later... because I can play just one guitar at a time :))

"Darkness Be My Freind" by Bruce Dickinson ... it's sorta hard to find . I have the tab and the CD (i also ripped the mp3 of it). It's sorta slow, so it's easy to play & sing to it. plus it's really depressing!
OMG!!!!!
THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER MADE!
ITS HILARIOUS!
CROCODILE SHOES - by JIMMY NAIL!!!
hahah, its sooooooo funny! makes me laugh anyway....we go a long way back;)

Well, I'd say that "The House Of The Rising Sun" by the Animals is good song. I believe that it's fingerpicked...
Don't Cry by the Guns n' Roses is also a good choice (I hope that it's fingerpicked too). I play both songs with pick, but lately I started to fingerpick 'em too.
