Hey, anyone know any good funk that I can listen to that will sort of introduce me to funk? It doesn't have to be funk guitar, but that would be preferable. Thanks.

Maybe some old Chili Peppers is a good introduction to some funk styling...

Yep, some older Chili Peppers, definately George Clinton, Sly and the Family Stone, and above all... The Godfather himself... James Brown.

not heard alot of funk myself but from what i've heard of Average White Band there pretty cool, incubus have some cool funky songs the early stuff any way

And: The Meters, Tower OF Power, Graham Central Station, Marcus Miller, also Rage Against Machine had some funky influence. Some Victor Wooten, and Fishbone, I've heard...

Bootsy collins, Average white band, the meters, tower of power, george clinton and parliament funkadelic, victor wooten, stevie wonder, prince, early chilli peppers, early jamiroquai, kool and the gang, patrice rushen, james brown, sly and the family stone. That be all i can think of right now.
