Chords in Open tunings

Could anyone tell me how to figure out chords in open tunings pls? I have recently been learning slide guitar therefore playing a lot of blues music (heh, or trying). I play mostly in Open D and G so far. Sliding is the easy part for me. How do I figure out where the chords are?
Thanks for any and all help here. I imagine the explanation I need could be long so a web site would be good too if you have one.
