I was just wondering if I can adjust the height of each polepiece individually on my fender delta tone pickups (installed on all American Standard Strats)...
I got them in a box of 3 and the polepiece height seems to be weird: the 3 bass poles are all equally high, the pole on the G is highest, the pole on the B is lowest and the high E pole is a little higher than on B, but still lower than the basses are?

Is this normal? Or what tool do I need to adjust the polepiece heights (they don't look like screws to me, so it can't be a mere screwdriver, and it also doesn't seem that an allen key would fit!)

Those are fixed pole pieces. They are set at a height that fender has decided is "correct."

hmm....
isn't it the rule that the polepiece of the low E at the neck pickup should be lowest and high E at the bridge the highest polepiece?

Anyways, I'll try it with fender's recommended height for the pickups...
thanks

What difference does it make?

On my Squire the pole pieces under D and G strings stick up about 3 or 4 mm more than the rest. I was just wondering what the advantages were.

Also, how do you adjust them? If I cant actually do it on a Squire, I'd still like to know for when I get a different guitar.

Strat pickups' pole pieces aren't adjustable. Other pickups that can have their pole pieces adjusted have screws as pole pieces. Some have a standard screw head, others have an allen head. If it's a screw, it's adjustable. Iif it's just flat, it's not adjustable.
