View Full Version : Washburn WR150 Electric guitar for an intermediate guitarist

hey ppl! i jus bought a jet black Washburn WR150 electric, and a Peavey Rage 158 practice amp. i've been playin for about a year and i kinda know what i'm doin when it comes to buyin guitars. the guy at the music shop said that Washburn guitars are very good quality and will last a long time. it's comfortable and it plays nice.... but i just wondered what everyone on here thought. and 55'gibby u've been a great help so far and i'd really like 2 kno what i think!! peace ppl

i dunno specifically about the one you picked...but personally i like Washburns....hopefully ill be pickin up my WI64 Idol in the next couple weeks :)

well... other than the whammy bar (I personally hate them, can't stand to play out of tune), washburns in general are pretty good guitars, pretty good electronics and the are made of good woods and are stable and road worthy, I haven't played that model but have played (and owned) bunches of others, I have found them to be a great value for the buck. I think you made a good choice with that stick. It should give you years of good service, just keep an eye on the fret wire, one (out of four) that I owned had some soft fret wire, and I had to have it refretted after about a year. I feel that that was a fluke, not the rule. good luck... keep playing

Washburns are great guitars for the money especially if you like somewhat original designs. Eight yrs ago i fell in love with the Mavericks and i now own 2 of them(BT-4s) i modded them a bit Duncan dists in the bucker pos and teflon nuts. Both the Wr line and Maverick line have gotten Editors pick awards from Guitar Player Mag, for what its worth Grover Jackson is president of Washburn.
