Ok I'll use the C major scale as the example.

To play over each chord Cmaj Dm Em Fmaj Gmaj Am Bdim

I can use major pentatonic scale for C, F and G and minor pentatonic for Dm, Em, and Am but what should I use for Bdim?

Can I use B minor pentatonic? If not what should you use over a dim chord, other than the first position of locrian (B in this example)?

If I use the F# from the B minor pentatonic whilst playing in C it is a flat 5th yes? Can I use this to enable me to play 3 notes a string in the first major position? Like so:

E-12-4-|
B-12-4-|
G-1-34-|
D-1-34-|
A-12-4-|
E-12-4-|Those are the finger numbers I would use, the non-diatonic note is in bold.

What's wrong with locrian? But if you don't want that it would still sound fine if you just stuck with Cmaj penta throughout the entire thing, maybe puttin in a litl miner penta here n there:cool:

I didn't mean I wouldn't use locrian I just wanted to know what equivalent penta I could use over the Dim that was just for that chord.

okay here's some ideas

B Locrian(will of course work)
B C D E F G A
1 b2 b3 4 b5 b6 b7

F Major pent yields the following chord tones
against a B dim chord

F Major pent
F G A C D
b5 b6 b7 b2 b3

It's relative minor,D minor pent yields
the same chord tones

D minor pent
D F G A C
b3 b5 b6 b7 b2

G Major/E minor pents yield the following chord tones
against a B dim chord

G Major pent
G A B D E
b6 b7 R b3 4

E minor pent
E G A B D
4 b6 b7 R b3

C Major/A minor pents yields the following
chord tones against a B dim chord

C Major pent
C D E G A
b2 b3 4 b6 b7

A minor pent
A C D E G
b7 b2 b3 4 b6

B Locrian pentatonic (Bdim add b9,b13)
B C D F G
R b2 b3 b5 b6

Bdim add b9,11 arp/pent
B C D E F
R b2 b3 4 b5

Bm7b5,11 arp/pent
B D E F A
R b3 4 b5 b7

Bm7b5,b13 arp/pent
B D F G A
R b3 b5 b6 b7 (note: b6 = b13)

Bm7b5,b9 arp/pent
B C D F A
R b2 b3 b5 b7 (b2 = b9)

B Locrian hexatonic
B C D F G A
R b2 b3 b5 b6 b7

B Locrian hexatonic symmetrical
B C D E F G
R b2 b3 4 b5 b6

I've edited it so you might want to take another look at it.
