4 string or 5 string?

i play the guitar and drums, and want to play the bass.. should i start on 5 strings?? my friends tell me to start in 5 strings because its gonna be hard to transfer from 4 to 5.. what are ur opinions? thanks..

unless you need the 5th string for some really low notes, go for the 4 string.

I imagine it would be just about as difficult switching from a 4 string bass to a 5 string as it is a 6 string guitar to a 7.

dude start with a 4... honetly im tooo tired right now to list all teh reasons why but trust me starting with a 4 will be much better...

i knwo what im talkign about.. pop can vouch for that as can some others... (at least i think i know what im talking about :D )

I can vouch for ya man... I'm a bassist too, and unless you really need the 5 string badly, definitely go for a 4 string
