Heavy Distortion

hiya!! I was wondering how to get a heavy distortion sound from my Ibanez Smash Box (death metal type sound)

Pretty much for any pedal, to get a heavy sound, turn up the lows and highs (bass and treble) and turn down the mid. Put the drive or gain up high. That will give it a heavy sound.
