I noticed that each has a different shape. Would someone please tell me what the dots (A...) refer to?
Thanks,

Hi
I think I'm right in saying that the dots dont refer to anything except to distiguish between different fingerings. Every chord is an A chord and every chord is as valid as any other. Another thing that sometimes comes after chords is (type2) or (type3).
For instance, you might have a song with two diferent fingerings for the same name of chord, eg
e---0
B---2
G---2
D---2
A---0
E---X
You could call this chord A or A(type1)
e---5
B---5
G---6
D---7
A---7
E---5
You could call this chord A . or A(type2)
The second chord isn't allways called A .(type2)
Only when there are different fingerings to choose from.
I Hope that helps:)
