WHAT kind of neck???

What the hell is a quartersawn neck?? The guitar I'm thinking of buying has a quartersawn maple neck with ebony fretboard. is this a good combo>? thanks for the feedback;)

quartersawn wood is how it is split at the lumber mill. Quarter sawn wood is more stable than with the grain or 90degs to it. Yes you want a quartersawn neck it's a good thing it helps to keep the neck flat and prevent twisting. it's not a cure all for anything you could do to it but it's the way to go. as far a the finger board goes ebony is harder than maple or rosewood so it should hold up really well.
