I been working on this lick for a little while now and I need some input on it. I don't know anyone else that plays guitar and would like someone else besides me to judge it. What do you recommend
me fixing? Give me your honest opinon. If it sucks then tell me it sucks. Just tell me your honest opionion. I have only been playing for 3 months so please don't get too technical in telling me what i should fix. Thanks.

Btw, the lick there is from the album earthquake. And is written by Jon Roth.

And, i know the tone isn't too good becuase i had to do some heavy compression to the file to make it smaller.

First of all cool lick

second of all NOT BAD for only 3 months under your belt

advice:break it down into segments and practice those slowly until you can play them accurately.work on the individual segments before playing the entire thing all the way through.then when you go back and play the whole thing it should sound better.

Excellent stuff for 3 months of playing :D

You need to slow down though. You can play a certain part fast and another one slow, everything's gotta follow the beat. So slow down and just keep practicing :D

A good job for only three months. Your timing probably needs the most work. You could tell when you were transitioning from one "part" to the next. You would be playing fast then pause then start playing fast agian. Work on the transition between each part. Also, since you are begining I suggest that you not worry to much about speed. Instead focus on keeping a solid rythm. Rythm is SOOOO much more importatnt than speed.

yeah, i know exactly what you mean. But just to note here. Some parts were meant to have a slight pause in them because i thought it sounded cool like that. But not all. Thanks for all the input guys.

Go to wholenote.com ,click on lessons then scroll down
to where it says "New or Updated Guitar Lessons" and
find and read the lesson titled "The Ultimate Key To Speed" by Michael Roberts

I'd post a link but wholenote doesn't have a URL at the top of the page that I can copy and paste. It just says wholenote.com without anything else in the way of a redirect to the lesson etc.
