Playin a few notes outside the scale makes the lick sound really good sometimes. Here's one that i kinda like. Say You're playing an A minor pentatonic at the 5th fret:

A--------------------
E--------------------
It works well over an A7 chord, cuz you get the major 3rd and u get that #4 (or b5 however you want to look at it). Then you can go back to playin the plain ol A minor pentatonic.
