I got this description from an official Seahorses tab book
Compound bend and release
e-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G----9 b 10 r 9 b 10------
D-----------------------------
A-----------------------------
E-----------------------------
Strike the note and bend up and down in the rhythm indicated
Basically you pluck the string once and bend up, then back down, then up again without plucking the string a second time.
About the name, you could just register again, allthough there might be a proper way.

Below is an example of a compound bend like David Gilmore would do. First you are bending a note up a whole step, then up another half step, then release down to the original note, then back up a whole step.
E:------------------------------
B:------------------------------
G:-----14b(16)b(17)r14b(16)-----
D:------------------------------
A:------------------------------
E:------------------------------
A compound bend does not have to follow this exact sequence, this is just an example. You might bend up a whole step, and then release it down a half step. Or any other creative bend combination.

People...so I'm supposed to bend and release the strings in one go, without picking the strings twice. In whatever humanly possible combination.
<Compound bends usually mean bending more than one string at a time, ie... fret 2nd&3rd string at the 7th fret and bend both up a whole step, thats one example...>
Got the above from another website's forum. So is this guy talking bull****, or is he talking about something else?
Thanks anyway for your comments.

that's something different =]
I'm not sure what it's called, and I'm probably very wrong in saying it's a double stop =]
It might be a double bend, yeh, that makes more sense.
But not sure on the exact name

Its just called a double note bend ,but yes a compound bend is when you bend up then down then up again as many times as you want but just pick the string once.
btw I'm getting all these definitions from some official tab books I've got.
edit-I said that was a unison bend when it isn't
thanks guys.
BTW... does anyone noe any cool guitar or rock music chatrooms.
