Ok I started on a little old Encore. But now I'd like to move on.
I don't have a lot of cash (around £300). The Guitar I end up buying
will prolly be the last at least for the time being. ATM the one I have in
Mind is the Epiphone SG400. But I'm keeping my mind open until I'm ready
to buy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to wot Guitars to go for?
I chose the Epiphone because I read reviews and it also looks good. I'd
like a Guitar that looks a little diffrent from the usual Fender style.
soz if the layout on this mail is a little wierd but I'm on an Amiga and
some of the features on this forum don't work properly in my Browser :(

well seeing as you haven't said what sort of style or anything you wanna play, I guess you should still go with the epiphone. I've heard they're pretty good quality
As for the body with a little difference from the strat, well Ibanez have a good line of guitars shaped unlike a strat. And ibanez is very good quality also I would suggest an ESP LTD. I think you could get that for 300 pounds.

Have a look at the Burns Brian May a lot of different tones on offer you may have to save a little more as it's RRP is about £450
Also a funky looking guitar is the Italia Modulo Tipo 3 It is so unusual and it's what I would call a Video guitar you know will stand out when you see it

Check out some ESP ltds. They are good quality for the price. I think epiphones are a little overpriced for the quality. Just go to a shop and play everything before you look at the prices. You might find one that you like for a good price. Good Luck.

well the only reason I like Jackson's is because of the Randy Rhoads =]
Ibanez make very good quality guitars, but the bodies are all made of american basswood (which doesn't bother me, coz I have one and it sounds great.
And ESP's are really good, but I'd be careful. Coz this guy I know bought one, and when he went to get it looked at, the wood that's supposed to go inbetween the pickups and the tremolo springs had been totally chiseled away. So the pickups were 'picking up' everything the tremolo was doing as well.
I guess that's just one bad apple in a bunch of good ones
