Hey hey--

The guitarist in my band just got a new guitar. It belonged to a professional, touring musician, and therefore it's a custom guitar tuned to low C.

Aside from the fact that we're gonna have to rework some of our music...what do I need to do to my 5-string bass (if anything) to make it correspond? Can I just adjust my fingerings? Or do I need to adjust my string tunings, too?

Thanks,
Lauren

omg why would you want to play in C??? ugh yukkies

ok teh B and E strings get dropped 2 full steps

A D and G get dropped one step...

BUT your B and E strings will be sooo low and ugle sounding unless you have a really long neck 25+ frets

Depends on how you want to play along with him...

The C is a whole step up from your B and you should be able to play with C as your root.

If you want open string C I would suggest a LaBella Light B set. The thick string in that set is a .118 and tunes perfectly to the C.
