pls help me pals with this song the riff is like this but I cant understand what it mean what is the "s" stands for pls help me.........

S stands for slide. So you would slide from the fifth fret to the 6th fret. When Kirk plays the sitar on the S&M DVD he just uses the main riff bit, not the tab thats in the Black album TAB book. ie he aint playin two strings at once.

He just repeats this on S&M.
When they play live, withouth the orchestra, a pre recorded sitar like the one on the CD gets played.

Here's your problem:

That's why it doesn't sound quite right. ;)

You can play it the way it's arranged though and it should sound close enough.Yes you play both notes together.It's just sliding octave shapes,shouldn't be too difficult.

As for the intro the best way to play it is on the the two e strings with a effect to split into one version one octave higher. Fo the riff you should hammer on and pull of as muth as you can where it sounds right. It really cool once you get the hang of it.
