View Full Version : Excessive Pop-Ups
Hi,
Shawn, I can appreciate that you need pop up ad's and banners to keep this site going, but browsing today, my computer almost because unusable because of the number of pop ups that came up.
Would getting a pop up blocker stop the money you get for the site?

As far as I know, I wouldn't really get paid for pop-ups that were blocked. Pop-up blockers are becoming very common now, and I even heard the new Microsoft Internet Explorer will have built in pop up blocking. I have the Google task bar, but I actually leave the pop-up blocking option on it off. Why, because I know that is what is paying for the sites that I visit. But what I do is close out the pop-up immediately. Waiting means that I will have 20 windows open with various ads and that will slow things down.
I understand peoples frustration with pop-ups. I know that you understand why they are there, many people don't. The site is free because of those like annoyances. And however obnoxious some people find them.....I will personally put up with them in order to have access to a wealth of free information on the Internet. I would much rather have corporations pay for the content, then to pay for it myself.
I am going to close this thread, I don't want to get into yet another long drawn out "I hate ads" argument. Private message me if you want to make any further comments on this.
