the last part, the little 3767, its a legato lick...i reach my pinky from 3 to 7 but theres not enough reach for me to be able to mash down on the note, and even if i do get a sound bringing my ring figer around for a pull off to 6 i lose all of my power and it makes no sound. would you keep all the fingers on the board like this, or say, fret 3 hammer 7 lift 3 and pull to 6 then back to 7?

this is really puzzling me i havent had this much trouble with a riff since i was a newbie:mad:

you can try tapping the 7 or the 8

As soon as you play 3rd fret, slide/jump your hand into a position where you can hit 7 and 6 easier, that's what I'd do. I'd keep playing it until it sounds smooth.

Just keep stretching, you'll get it sooner or later. To help you out, do it like 3878 a few times to really stretch your fingers.

Just work at it for a very long time. Your pinky is very important, and most people don't practice their pinkies enough. Do some strengthening excercises for the pinky. You'll have more control over it and it won't hurt so much when you play with it.
